BalVault pulls checking, savings, credit card, loan, mortgage, and investment balances from your banks — then writes them to a CSV you open in LibreOffice Calc, Excel, or any spreadsheet. No cloud storage. No scraping. Nothing leaves your machine.
BalVault doesn't store your credentials, doesn't scrape bank websites, and doesn't send your data anywhere you don't choose.
Your SimpleFIN token and account data live in a SQLite database on your computer. Nothing is uploaded to any cloud service — ever.
One click writes your balances to a clean CSV file. Open it in LibreOffice Calc, Excel, Google Sheets, or any tool that reads CSVs.
Checking, savings, credit cards, loans, mortgages, and investment accounts. If SimpleFIN Bridge supports it, BalVault pulls it.
Hit refresh and BalVault fetches the latest balances from all your linked accounts in one pass. No manual entry, no copy-paste.
A native 47 MB .exe — no browser extension, no Electron bloat, no web app that phones home. Just a clean desktop tool.
You never enter bank passwords in BalVault. Authentication is handled entirely by SimpleFIN Bridge — you only provide the one-time setup token.
Sign up at beta-bridge.simplefin.org ($1.50/month), connect your bank accounts once, and copy your setup token. SimpleFIN handles all the bank authentication and 2FA — not us.
Paste the token into BalVault once. It's stored locally in a SQLite database on your computer. That's the only "credential" BalVault ever sees.
Click "Export CSV" and open the file in your spreadsheet of choice. Refresh anytime to pull updated balances. Repeat forever.
SimpleFIN Bridge is a separate $1.50/month service billed by SimpleFIN. It handles bank connections and is required for BalVault to work.
