What BalVault Is
BalVault is desktop software for Windows that pulls your financial account balances through SimpleFIN Bridge and writes them to a CSV file on your computer. It is a one-time purchase of $28.99. No subscription. No recurring fees. You pay once and the software is yours.
License
Your purchase grants you a personal, non-transferable license to install and use BalVault on up to 2 simultaneous machines, with 4 lifetime activations and 2 auto-reset allowances available via email. If you need to install on a new or replacement computer and have reached the limit, contact support for a reset. BalVault is for personal use only — not for commercial redistribution, resale, or use as part of a service you offer to others.
No Reverse Engineering
You may not reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, modify, or attempt to derive the source code of BalVault, and you may not attempt to bypass, disable, or circumvent its activation, licensing, or copy-protection controls, except where expressly permitted by applicable law. Violating this section may result in termination of your license and, where applicable, legal action.
Free Trial
BalVault offers a 14-day free trial with no credit card required. The trial is limited to 2 accounts but is otherwise fully functional. Use the trial to confirm BalVault works with your bank and fits your workflow before purchasing.
Refunds
Because the 14-day free trial lets you fully evaluate BalVault before paying, all sales are final once an activation key has been used. If the trial worked for you, the paid version will too — it's the same software. If you encounter a technical issue, contact support and we'll work with you to resolve it.
SimpleFIN Bridge
BalVault relies on SimpleFIN Bridge, a separate third-party service, to connect to your financial institutions. SimpleFIN Bridge costs $1.50 per month and is billed directly by SimpleFIN. BalVault is not affiliated with SimpleFIN, and we make no guarantees about SimpleFIN Bridge's availability, accuracy, or continued operation. If SimpleFIN Bridge changes its pricing, API, or discontinues service, BalVault's ability to fetch balances may be affected. SimpleFIN Bridge is a separate third-party service with its own Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. By using BalVault, you also agree to SimpleFIN's terms.
No Warranty
BalVault is provided "as is," without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that BalVault will be error-free, uninterrupted, or compatible with every financial institution or system configuration. We are not responsible for any financial decisions made based on data exported by BalVault. Always verify balances against your bank's official records.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, BalVault and its developers shall not be liable for any consequential, incidental, special, indirect, or punitive damages, or for any lost profits, lost data, or lost savings, arising out of or related to your use of — or inability to use — BalVault, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total aggregate liability arising out of or related to these terms or your use of BalVault, whether in contract, tort, or otherwise, shall not exceed the amount you actually paid for BalVault (the purchase price). Because some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion or limitation of certain damages, portions of this section may not apply to you.
Your Data
BalVault does not store, transmit, or access your financial data on our servers. We don't have servers that hold your data. Your SimpleFIN setup token is stored in a local SQLite database on your PC. Your account balances are written to a CSV file you specify. Nothing is sent to BalVault. You are solely responsible for backing up your own data.
Your Responsibility for Your Data
BalVault extracts financial data from your institutions and writes it to a CSV file on your machine. From that point on, what happens to that data is up to you. We are not responsible for how you subsequently use, share, or distribute the financial data BalVault extracts; for your own data privacy practices, including how you store, back up, or protect the CSV file or your computer; for SimpleFIN Bridge's data handling, which is governed by SimpleFIN's own terms; or for the accuracy of balances pulled from your financial institutions. Balances may be delayed or incorrect, so always verify against your bank's official records.
Termination
Your license may terminate if we determine that you have used BalVault for piracy, shared your activation key with others, circumvented its activation or licensing controls, or used it unlawfully. On termination, you must stop using BalVault and uninstall it. Termination does not affect the data on your machine: your SimpleFIN token, your CSV files, and any other local data stay exactly where they are. We cannot access or remove them, and we will never ask you to send them to us.
Updates
Your $28.99 purchase includes all future updates to BalVault. There are no upgrade fees, no annual maintenance charges, and no version tiers. We release updates to fix bugs, improve performance, and add features — not to extract more money from you.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. If you are located outside the United States, you agree that these terms are still governed by Delaware law to the extent permitted by applicable local law. Any dispute arising out of these terms will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Delaware, and you consent to their jurisdiction.
Severability
If any provision of these terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid, that provision will be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect.
Entire Agreement
These terms constitute the entire agreement between you and BalVault regarding the software, and they supersede any prior agreements or understandings, whether written or oral. Any waiver of a provision must be made in writing.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available at this page. Continued use of BalVault after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated terms.
